Cheryl Anne Porter Scholarship Fund

Cheryl Anne Porter, beloved author and teacher, passed away on August 25, 2004 after a long and valiant fight against cancer. A sought-after speaker and award-winning writer, Cheryl made a difference in so many lives with her books, words and sparkling personality. In one of her last speeches to our local chapter in Tampa, Florida, she spoke about courage in our heroines--and ourselves. She lived every word.

To honor our beloved chapter sister, the Tampa Area Romance Authors is in the process of setting up a scholarship fund in Cheryl Anne Porter's name, a fitting tribute to a woman who educated so many within our industry. This scholarship fund will benefit aspiring writers who wish to further their education and networking opportunities by funding registration to regional chapter or national RWA conferences. Names of recipients and more details will be coming soon.
